
The level of loans of all types in December 2021 was 9.7 percent higher than at the end of 2020, the Serbian Association of Banks said on Thursday.

It said that the total loans to companies, households and entrepreneurs stood at around 3,148 billion Dinars. Companies owed some 1,750 billion at the end of last year and were 9 percent higher than a year earlier while entrepreneurs owed 69.8 billion or 9.9 percent more. Households increased their debts by 10.6 percent to about 1,328 billion Dinars.
Cash loans to households were 10.1 percent higher, consumer loans 26.2 percent higher, refinancing loans 27.2 percent higher, farming loans 3.4 percent higher and housing loans were 16.8 higher.
The Association of Banks said that 3.1 percent of loan repayments were falling late which is just slightly less than at the end of 2020.
