Trade Minister Tomislav Momirovic said on Wednesday that Serbia enjoys a higher level of trust and cooperation with China than any other European country.
He told the Serbian state TV (RTS) that China is Serbia’s second most important economic partner after Germany. According to the minister, Serbian exports to china totaled 1.2 billion Dollars in 2023.
Momirovic said he sent letters to his EU, UK, US and CEFTA member counterparts to remind them that the ban on imports of Serbian products is still in effect in Kosovo.
The RTS said that a mixed Serbia-China committee is due to meet in Belgrade on Wednesday. Momirovic said that the meeting will discuss tourism, infrastructure, trade, the digital economy and new technologies.
“We have exceptionally close relations with our friends in the People’s Republic of China but we are maintaining and building relations on completely new foundations with our European Union partners, especially France,” he said.
