Transport operator Jacimovic: Police tricked us, they took my bus, but I’m not giving up

According to Jacimovic, after being stopped by police in Belgrade on Tuesday evening, he made an agreement with veterans and the police to park his bus and then proceed to support Dijana Hrka. However, he was subsequently arrested. He stressed that the veterans were not to blame, and that they were tricked by the police along with him.

He recounted that at the police station, he was informed that his bus, used to transport the people from Novi Sad, was being confiscated. Yet, Jacimovic remains defiant, saying he has three more buses available for this purpose and will not abandon his efforts.

“They made it clear that they would confiscate every bus I put on the road,” he added.

Jacimovic, who was released from detention overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, confirmed he would be coming to Belgrade again on Wednesday. He vowed to continue, even if all his buses are impounded, as several other transport operators have offered him their support.

He emphasized that several buses have been taken from him, but that he is “going until the last one.”

“We still have three operational buses at our disposal. I am not alone, I have the people with me. These two buses in Belgrade’s Makis neighborhood are ‘people’s buses,’ and the one heading to Belgrade tonight is also ‘people’s,’ these aren’t just mine, they belong to the people of Serbia. I’m coming to Belgrade again today, there’s no stopping,” he said.
