Truck drivers block Serbia-Hungary border

Truck drivers blocked the Kelebija border crossing between Serbia and Hungary on Thursday protesting over the delays they have been facing for weeks.

Truck driver Sava Simovic told N1 that they are demanding a meeting with government officials to resolve the problem. He said that drivers spent days waiting for the customs services to do their job. He said long lines had been forming for weeks. “My fellow driver has been here since Tuesday, the customs officers are in no hurry… We are expecting Serbia or Hungarian officials to talk to us tomorrow,” he said.

Simovic said that a wait of 22 hours is good since some drivers spend two or three days waiting at the border.
