Turkish KFOR trooper dies

“Today, a soldier of the Turkish Army employed with the NATO-led KFOR mission, in the Liaison Monitoring Team of Gjilan passed away, during his sleep. The exact cause of his death is yet to be confirmed,” a press release said.

It added that the Turkish served with distinction.

The press release added that KFOR commander Turkish Major General Özkan Ulutaş offered his condolences to the family. “His loss is felt throughout the entire KFOR community. We will honour his memory through our unwavering commitment to KFOR’s mission,” the general is quoted as saying.
