Police in Montenegro banned members of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Vladimir Mandic and Dan Sijan, from entering the country, Podgorica media reported, referring to the decision of the Police Administration.

The two were banned from entering Montenegro on Friday evening "due to national security reasons”, according to the police decision, published by Pobjeda from Podgorica.

The members of Aleksandar Vucic's party were detained for several hours at the Metalja border crossing near Pljevlja, after which they were handed the decision.

Mandic and Sijan were detained on the eve of the local elections in Niksic in March last year, on suspicion of buying votes.

Mandic was recently also detained in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, also on the eve of the elections.
