The Information and Telecommunications Ministry said on Monday that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) gave Serbia top rankings in terms of cybersecurity.

The ITU Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 ranked Serbia as Tier 1 – Role Modelling both in Europe and globally.

The Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 said that Serbia’s areas of relative strength are its legal, organizational, capacity development and cooperation measures while its technical measures were ranked as areas of potential growth.

A government press release said that “Serbia is recognised as one of the leading countries in all these aspects, confirming the country’s significant contribution in ensuring a high level of cybersecurity”.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies.
