The United Educators of Serbia called for a general strike and a complete suspension of classes from March 17 to 19.
This is a continuation of the protests in some schools, in support of students and their demands, which has been ongoing since the official start of the second semester on January 20.
Aleksandar Vinic, a representative of the Association of Schools on Strike, which is a member of the United Educators of Serbia, told the FoNet news agency that the teachers’ strike will persist despite reduced salaries.
Vinic said the Association expects a massive response to the call for a three-day general strike, adding that the call may be extended through the end of the week.
