United Media calls on Administrative Court to react to Zekic statements
United Media’s legal team once again filed an urgent appeal with the Administrative Court, this time over Serbian electronic media regulatory body (REM) head Olivera Zekic’s statements in which she commented on the recommendations in the amendments to the European Commission report on Serbia that call for a “transparent” allocation of the fifth national broadcasting license.
Zekic repeated her previously stated position – “no can do” – and accused MEPs of being “flimflammers.”
In connection with this, lawyer Milos Stojkovic filed an urgent appeal with the Administrative Court before which proceedings against the REM are ongoing for violation of rules and its failure to award the fifth national broadcasting license.
“Television Nova is an applicant in the competition for the issuance of the fifth license (national broadcasting frequency), as well as an applicant in the previous public competition that ended at the beginning of August last year. Last year it sued REM for failing to pass a decision on the award of the fifth national broadcasting license within the legal deadline,” Stojkovic told N1.
N1 and Nova S operate within United Media.
