University of Belgrade proposes solution to students to end crisis

Iva Draskic Vicanovic, Dean of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology, told Insajder that they are now waiting for a response from students.

“We had a major meeting on Monday, with 31 deans, the rector, and students — representatives from all faculties, two delegates each,” she said.

According to her, they discussed all aspects of the situation currently facing the academic community for “five to six hours,” and are now waiting for the students’ response.

Students in Serbia have been blocking university schools and colleges and organizing protests and marches for months, demanding their demands be met, primarily accountability for the November 1 collapse of a concrete canopy at Novi Sad Train Station that killed 16 people.
