University of Belgrade rector: Enrollment quotas to remain the same, applications open next week

“We resumed talks with Serbian Government representatives regarding the academic community’s demands. We are still trying to reach solutions for the demands we submitted. Today we mainly discussed budget quotas, and it was agreed that these quotas will stay at the same number as the previous year,” Djokic said after a meeting at the Serbian Government.

He explained that the Government will hold a meeting by the end of the week to make a decision on the quotas.

“Next week we will be able to open applications for the upcoming academic year,” Djokic added.

A meeting was held in Belgrade on Tuesday between Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut and rectors from all universities to discuss the current situation at universities and fulfilling professors’ demands.
