Students at the University of Belgrade maintained their protest blockades on Tuesday, with several faculties scheduled to hold plenary meetings, protest organizers confirmed to FoNet news agency.

The University Rectorate building remains under blockade, as does the Faculty of Philology, where most classes have been suspended despite attempts to continue some lectures. Milica Pendic, a student participant in the Philology blockade, told FoNet that a plenary meeting was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Following a lengthy plenary session on Monday night, students at the Faculty of Architecture joined the protests with their own blockade. Students from the Faculty of Political Sciences also announced plans to begin their blockade on Tuesday.

The protests began Monday when students initiated blockades at the University Rectorate, and the Faculties of Philology, Philosophy, and Mathematics. Plenary meetings were held at each location to discuss student demands.

The protesters are calling for the release of documents related to the Novi Sad railway station reconstruction, accountability for those who attacked students at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, and a 20 percent increase in funding for public universities.

Additional demands include the immediate release of all citizens arrested during peaceful protests and the dismissal of what they describe as unfounded charges against them.
