US Ambassador: New mayors should not use force in north Kosovo

Speaking after a regular weekly meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the Ambassador said that conflicts and activities that raise tension should be avoided in the north. He aid that Washington is opposed to the use of force to enter municipal administration buildings.

Hovenier said that the US supports the new draft for the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) put forward by Kurti and added that Washington feels that his government has the responsibility to immediately continue the negotiations and form the CSM.
