US Ambassador Christopher Hill said on Tuesday that the armed incident at the Banjska monastery in Kosovo was “a tragic event”, adding that steps are being considered.
He told a debate on altered geopolitics and international law that everyone has to condemn the killing of a Kosovo police sergeant but that the political process has to continue. According to the ambassador, efforts are being invested to get the dialogue moving.
Hill said the diplomatic process has to be reinforced. The situation is being treated as very serious with talks on the next steps, he said.
