Invitations to attend Tuesday’s meeting on the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) have been sent to the offices of Kosovo Prime Minister and President. The US Embassy in Pristina told Kallxo that they have confirmed their participation.

The US Embassy in Pristina will organize Tuesday a closed roundtable that is to be attended by representatives of the Albanian and Serb community, including Kosovo politicians and government and civil society representatives. The meeting follows high-ranking US officials’ earlier statements that focus will be placed on the dialogue on the CSM, even if there is no support from the government – “with or without (Kosovo Prime Minister Albin) Kurti,” KoSSev reported.

Minister Nenad Rasic has already confirmed his attendance, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Donika Gervalla has confirmed that she has received the invitation, while Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani’s office said it would send a representative. Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti, on the other hand, said that he has not received an invitation, and that he will not attend the meeting, reported KoSSev.

The US Embassy in Pristina, however, said on Monday evening that members of the Kosovo President and Prime Minister’s offices will be attending the meeting.

The Embassy said that invitations have been sent to various groups of civil society representatives, government officials, political leaders and diplomats.

Spokesperson of the US Embassy in Pristina told Kallxo that the discussion will focus on the CSM but also on ways of advancing Kosovo’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
