Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) deputy leader Borko Stefanovic, Movement of Free Citizens leader Pavle Grbovic and co-president of the Together party Nebojsa Zelenovic discussed with US Senator Chris Murphy the problems Serbia is facing following the recent tragedies in the country, said the SSP.
Stefanovic said that, following the two mass shootings that took place at the beginning of May, Serbia is no longer the same country and that the government needs to understand this.
“The spiral of violence must be broken, and disarmament alone is not enough, the government needs to immediately stop the promotion of violence in the media it controls, stop the media persecution of the unlike-minded, and stop pressuring and blackmailing employees in the public sector,” said Stefanovic.
He noted that the SSP has been insisting, for over a year, that the Government align its foreign policy with that of the European Union (EU) and introduce partial sanctions against Russia.
Stefanovic stressed it was in Serbia’s interest to finally make a turn and take the direction toward Europe instead of isolating itself by trying to sit on two chairs.
