US welcomes Serbia's elections outcome, warns about OSCE monitors conclusions
An unnamed State Department spokesperson welcomed the outcome of Serbia's Sunday elections and recalled on Tuesday that Serbia had joined the world democracies, including all its neighbours, in condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine, but added Washington was concerned with the OSCE monitoring missions conclusions about the election process.
Speaking to the Voice of America (VOA), the spokesperson reiterated that Serbia's declaration in the United Nations General Assembly was a strong and unique message and confirmation of Serbia's aspirations for membership in the European Union.
"We expect Serbia to be united with us in a strong message of support for Ukraine - against the war that the Russian side has chosen," he added.
In the meantime, the US new ambassador Christopher Hill to Serbia congratulated President Aleksandar Vucic for winning his second consecutive term. In a tweet in Serbian, he also congratulated all participants and people who exercised their voting rights.

Early on Tuesday, Vucic's cabinet said the EU top diplomat Josep Borrell also congratulated the President on the election victory.
The State Department spokesperson told VOA that the US shared "the mission's concerns about the combined impact of unequal access to the media, unjustified pressure on public sector employees to support officials, significant financial inequalities and misuse of state resources that have resulted in unequal conditions for all participants."
