Vecernje Novosti editor given one-year work ban over insults against attorney Tomanovic
Following a criminal complaint filed by attorney Zdenko Tomanovic against Vecernje Novosti editor over a series of lies and insults, the First Basic Court in Belgrade found Andrijana Nesic guilty of the criminal offense of insult, the Tomanovic Law Office said.
It added that Nesic has been ordered to pay a fine of 450,000 dinars.
The court also imposed a security measure banning her from performing editorial duties for one year.
“The ruling by Judge Tatjana Bezmarevic Janjic is encouraging, as editors of totalitarian regime propaganda outlets that produce lies, discrimination, hatred and insults cannot escape accountability,” Zdenko Tomanovic’s law office said.
