Whether the girl gone missing in Serbia, Danka Ilic, is in the footage provided by a Serbian national living in Vienna is the subject of an ongoing investigation, and we are in regular consultation with the Serbian authorities, the Viennese police said in response to an inquiry from N1.
They said “a Serbian national living in Vienna saw, according to his own statements, a two-year-old girl missing in Serbia at a tram stop in the center of Vienna on 30 March 2024 at around 8 pm.”
“The child was accompanied by two women. He contacted the Serbian authorities, they contacted the Vienna police. The witness was questioned and a video that the man had made of his observation was secured,” said the Viennese police.
The exact circumstances, in particular whether it is actually the missing girl is the subject of an ongoing investigation, in regular consultation with the Serbian authorities, they added.
“There is currently no further information. As soon as there is something new, we will actively communicate it,” they said.
Danka Ilic disappeared last Tuesday afternoon in the Banjsko Polje settlement in the city of Bor, following which the ‘Find Me’ system was activated for the first time in Serbia.
Danka has brown hair, brown eyes and is about 85 centimeters tall. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing an olive green jacket, purple pants, black sneakers and her hair tied in a ponytail.
Interpol has issued a yellow notice for Danka.
