Vojvodina lawyers on strike

A statement said that they decided to stop working for a day because of the systematic, long-term interference of the executive authorities in the judiciary, the legally groundless preparation of changes to the criminal code, preventing lawyers from doing their job and the cursory use of repressive measures against the protesters following the Novi Sad Railway Station tragedy.

Vojvodina Bar Association Council member Tanja Arsic told N1 that the decision to stop working for a day was taken because lawyers feel that certain human rights have been violated and rule of law disrupted.
