Viola von Cramon MEP rejected claims by Kosovo deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi about NGOs he claims opposed the integration of the Kosovo Serbs.

European Union envoy Miroslav Lajcak posted a picture of his meeting with members of the National Convent for the EU in Brussels who Bislimi said were only Serbian. “The delegation is mainly composed of serb NGO-s from Kosova, actively and openly advocating against integration of Serb citizens in the economic and social life of Kosovo,” Bislimi wrote in a multi-part X post in response to Lajcak.

The EU is its own master and does not need someone to tell its officials whom and at what time they can meet.

I am personally deeply disappointed and concerned as these statements are not only false but also dangerous as they put the target on NGO reps.

Von Cramon wrote that the EU does not need someone to tell its officials who they can meet adding that Lajcak has repeatedly met with all key stakeholders who can contribute with their input or actions to the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

“This visit is no exception in that regard. These people are not the mouthpiece of (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic but independent NGOs that support multi-ethnic programs and tirelessly work on integration within Kosovo. These statements are not only false but also dangerous as they put the target on their personas and organizations,” Von Cramon said responding to Bislimi.
