
MEPs Viola von Cramon and Thijs Reuten expressed deep regret over the Serb List decision not to take part in the local elections in Kosovo in April.
“Participation of all relevant actors in the north of Kosovo’s political life and institutions is critical to normalization between Kosovo and Serbia,” they said in a joint statement.
They said that the Serb List refusal to take part in the elections runs counter to the commitment by Belgrade and Pristina to secure a an appropriate level of self-management for the Serb community.

Von Cramon and Reuten called the Serb List to take part in the local elections and called the Kosovo authorities to show flexibility and urge the Serb List to submit its electoral list even though the deadline has passed.
They appealed to all relevant actors in Serbia and Kosovo to demonstrate commitment to the Agreement of 27 February and Annex in both words and action,” they said.
