Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, European Parliament (EP) Greens' member, said on Wednesday that her MEP's group and herself would carefully watch the inter-party dialogue in Serbia supposed to start sometime soon, adding all sides should know what the deadline was and what should be achieved.

She added that the implementation of the agreed would also be carefully monitored.

Speaking to the Belgrade independent Danas daily, Von Cramon said her concern was caused by still unknown participants in the dialogue from Serbia's side and added the Greens closely cooperated with other MEPs groups to make sure that the concerns were recognised.

Commenting on Serbia's Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic statement that the inert-party dialogue "is a side job for us" and that "it cannot replace elections," Von Cramon said Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic had decided that the election would be in 2020, "when he wants them to happen."

"It's clear there is no single Constitutional or legal reason. That will happen because it suits him (Vucic) politically, what is inadmissible," von Cramon said, adding the rule of law meant the respect of the regulations even if they were not in line with short-time political interests.

"Serbia's Government should stop talking about that and implement the reforms in the next several months. If the European Union wants to influence the situation with the rule of law in Serbia, we should tackle the issue," she said.

Von Cramon also said the EP should raise voice against the Serbian politicians' and officials' hate speech "when they attack highly respected EP members on a personal basis, since we must not allow that."
