Vreme: Orion sold to Telekom, pulls the plug on N1 for remaining subscribers

Customers of Orion Telekom have once again lost access to the N1 television channel, reported the weekly Vreme. Is this blackout permanent, and does it have anything to do with the fact that, just a week ago, Telekom took over all of Orion’s subscribers?

Over the past few months, some Orion customers found themselves what they describe as an absurd situation. In early June, the operator removed N1 from its lineup, despite user contracts being valid until March 2026. Users were informed of the change a mere half-hour before it happened, Vreme reported.
However, following countless phone calls from dissatisfied subscribers, the channel was restored for some people. Seven months later, however, on 9 December, it disappeared again for those who still had it. Others have been without N1 since the summer.
“My friend and I are both with Orion Telekom,” a Belgrade resident told Vreme. “I lost N1 back in the summer. At first, it showed up at channel position 999, but the image was frozen, and I couldn't select it. Since then, it’s been gone. My friend had it restored and watched it - until December 9,” she explained.
Another customer who still had the N1 TV channel until this winter says she called Orion’s customer service and was told that “they only restored the channel for the oldest, longest-standing customers.” She insists that isn’t true either because she knows people who have been with the cable provider since day one and never got N1 back in the meantime.
Vreme asked Orion Telecom whether they had removed N1 from their lineup. Orion Telecom did not respond to Vreme’s questions by the time of publication.
