Milos Vucevic, leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), said Monday that the final election results show that the SNS electoral list “We Won’t Give Serbia Up, Aleksandar Vucic” won 47.12 percent of the vote in Sunday’s local elections in Zajecar, eastern Serbia.

“In terms of seats, that translates to 27 out of 50. That means our list ‘We Won’t Give Serbia Up – Aleksandar Vucic,’ that is, the Serbian Progressive Party, has secured an absolute majority, and we can form the local assembly,” Vucevic told a press conference.

He added that the list “Changes We Believe In” received 10,311 votes, or 34.22 percent of votes.

The “United for the Salvation of Zajecar” list won 2,284 vote or 7.58 percent, earning four seats in the local assembly, said Vucevic.

“Based on the data we have, these are the only three tickets that made it over the electoral threshold,” said Milos Vucevic.
