Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Tuesday evening in Brussels that the opposition in Serbia “wants power at all costs,” which was why it is organizing protests.

Asked to comment on the protests in the city of Novi Sad, Vucic said these were people who are extremely arrogant and haughty.

“This is a combination of irresponsible and uneducated people who do not understand what Serbia needs, but who are very arrogant and haughty and want power at all costs,” said the Serbian president.

He added that he would not have traveled to Brussels if he thought there was “any danger.”

“As for my political opponents – God bless them and may they stay exactly as they are for another 100 years, but that is not exactly good for Serbia,” Vucic said.

He accused opposition representatives of harassing citizens during protests and blockades.
