
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic briefed Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko on the Sunday evening’s unrest in Belgrade.
“We also exchanged views on bilateral relations, the situation in the region and current geopolitical developments,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
He added that he conveyed to Bocan-Kharchenko the wish for the two nations to welcome the coming holidays and the New Year in peace and prosperity.
Vucic reiterated that everything will be done to “preserve the safety of the citizens” and of the state.
Outgoing Prime Minister Ana Brnabic previously thanked the Russian security services for notifying the Serbian authorities about the incidents planned for Sunday in Belgrade.
