Vucic claims to side with protesting students

He said that the students who have been protesting for more than a year have been fiercely attacked for having their own views and for not wanting anyone to rule Serbia in their place.

“They have been attacked because they don’t want others to rule instead of them. My job is to say that I am on the side of these young people. They should continue fighting, now they are finally involved in politics,” Vucic said. He added that the young people are no part of the political reality.

Vucic said that he isn’t happy with the arguments and conflicts among the young people because “they will now go through what people in power have already gone through – the hatred of people who want to be in power”. He accused unspeficied people who wanted to but failed to come to power of using the young people to win power. “Now the kids are being accused of being worse than Vucic because they realized that they can take power and fight in a different way,” he added.
