Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday confirmed media reports that he announced some 500 million Euro in new investments over the past month.

Vucic told reporters in the town of Brus that he did pledge that money not for himself but for investments “needed by the citizens”. The state has the money and the public debt will not rise to over 60 percent of the GDP, he said.

“I did spend the money but not for myself. That money is for hospitals, ring roads, roads, tunnels, gas pipeline, sewers. Those are things the citizens need,” Vucic said.
