Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he did not contribute to the dissolution of the Serbia Against Violence (SPN) opposition coalition, and denied meeting any opposition leaders at his family home in the Jajinci neighborhood.

Vucic said he “doesn't know” who is participating in the local elections on June 2 and who is boycotting them because, he added, he is “fully dedicated to diplomatic efforts at the UN against the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica.”

“They live in this bubble of lies they've created, I don't even know what to say. I don't know who is standing in the elections, who isn't, nobody sends me news from the Parliament because this is the only thing that interests me... I haven't broken up anybody, that's a question for them,” said the Serbian President.

“None of them have been to my place in Jajinci, nor will they, because I know all they've done… I choose my company,” Vucic told Serbian reporters in New York ahead of the UN General Assembly vote on the resolution on Srebrenica, scheduled for May 2.

Serbia Center (SRCE) leader Zdravko Ponos said on Sunday that the government “drilled holes” in the opposition when it saw that it was not united. “They took some to Jajince for wine, to coffee with Hill, to the Patriarch,” said Ponos, but declined to disclose any names.

Vucic said the Serbia Against Violence opposition coalition fell apart because “all of them know they would lose the elections in Belgrade.”

“The five percent difference - 39 to 34 percent - in the (previous) election now stands at around 10-11 percent. They saw that they made numerous mistakes after the elections, that people do not want the country to be led by (Michael) Roth and (Andreas) Schieder, that citizens want swift development of their cities and state,” said the Serbian President.
