President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that "even in this uncertain time, Serbia manages to bring in investors," witnessing the end of the first phase in constructing the Turkish company Erenli Kauçuk's new factory in Serbia's southern town of Leskovac.
He thanked Turkish investors for coming to Serbia and added that it was the 23rd Turkish factory in Serbia.
„Welcome to Serbia, to stay here for a long time, to be satisfied, to earn money, and I congratulate the people of Leskovac on another factory,“ Vucic said.
He added that Erenli Kauçuk’s export worth 25 million euros from Serbia to Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany would further contribute to the growth of Serbia’s GDP.
Hami Aksoy, Turkish ambassador to Serbia, said that he was pleased to attend the launch of another Turkish investment in Serbia, that 23 Turkish factories were operating here, and that Turkey’s goal was to reach 30 and then 50 factories in Serbia.
„Turkish investments in Serbia are growing because the state offers numerous subsidies to foreign investors,“ he said.
Aksoy added that the value of Turkish investments in Serbia was 300 million dollars and said that Erenli’s initial investment would be 16.5 million euros. The company would employ 338 workers in Leskovac in the first phase.
