“We have different views on the current situation in the country and the geo-political situation,” Vucic wrote in an Instagram post adding that they also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

A Swedish government press release said that Rosencrantz visit is focused on EU enlargement and Sweden-Serbia relations. It said that the minister is meeting government, civil society and opposition officials.

Rosencrantz told N1 after the meeting that she told Vucic the European Union and Sweden expect Serbia to implement necessary reforms, especially on rule of law as a fundamental issue. She expressed regret over the lack of reforms and concern about the regression on democratic standards, pressure on the media, and other participants in public and political life.

She denied claims by Serbian officials of Western support for what Vucic calls the colored revolution, adding that she told the Serbian President that officials have to stop making those accusations. Rule of law and fundamental rights do not mean just adopting laws by creating an inclusive society, she said.
