Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that he would be going to the western town of Priboj to help ease inter-ethnic tension.

Inter-ethnic tension rose over the new year and Christmas holdiays following the release of a video of police officers singing songs denying the Srebrenica massacre and threatening similar crimes in the Sandzak area of western Serbia which has a large Muslim population.

Vucic posted a photograph of himself with Internal Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Serbian military chief of staff General Milan Mojsilovic with a caption saying that they were out in the cold to clear their heads following difficult talks about the security situation in the region.

“We agreed to travel to Priboj on Wednesday to ease the heightened inter-ethnic tension and take the necessary concrete measures and provide full security for all the citizens of our Serbia,” Vucic said in the post.
