Commenting the cancellation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic told the state television (RTS) on Monday that Serbia’s refusal to always be a part of a pack causes headaches.

Vucic said he was not surprised by the outcome regarding Lavrov’s visit, that he was dissatisfied with the overall atmosphere and that he has not seen such hysteria directed at Serbia for a long time.

Russian Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko officially informed Vucic on Monday that Minister Lavrov is prevented from coming to Belgrade because three countries around Serbia closed their airspace to his aircraft.

„You cannot understand the countless number of talks that took place in which Serbia was asked to refuse hospitality to the Russian Foreign Minister,” said Vucic. The hysteria that was seen showed what some actually want and since they cannot do anything to Russia, they are “taking it out on Serbia”, said Vucic, adding that he was not referring to the Americans, but to “the small ones”, from “Carl Bildt to Croatia.”

Disagreement and dissatisfaction must be expressed, said Vucic, adding that he would like it if someone was willing to talk because talking is healing.
