Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed that the talks will begin Monday morning at 8 am in Brussels, to which he and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, have been urgently invited.

„I’m not an optimist, I will leave not because I think we can do anything, but to not give them the so-called Leibnitz’s ‘sufficient reason’ to blame Serbia for not wanting to participate in something,“ Vucic told TV Prva.

He reiterated that Belgrade is asking for the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities in accordance with the proposal of the Serbian management team and the cancellation of the decision on license plates, assessing that Kosovo officials „lied that it was something they had the right to“ and that it was not the first time that „they lied“.

The President said that there is no doubt that the situation is more difficult than in the last ten years and that it is not only about the plates, but also about the decisions that Kurti announced at the recent meeting in Berlin when the agreements on diplomas, identity cards and professions were signed.

Vucic said that he is ready to discuss the Franco-German proposal on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina because Belgrade wants to give a chance to changes in the proposed solution.

He warned that there would be „hell on the ground“ if the licence plate decision was to be implemented in the north.

„Serbia will protect its people. I hope that this will not happen, but it doesn’t depend on us,“ said Vucic.

Vucic pointed out that he does not believe a word of the Germans and other Western countries when it comes to Kosovo.
