Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attended a reception hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Germany's membership in the United Nations (UN) and invited Scholz to visit Serbia so they could discuss issues that are key to advancing cooperation between Serbia and Germany.

Vucic said in an Instagram post that he had a cordial meeting with Chancellor Scholz.

“We used the opportunity to exchange opinions on the current geopolitical situation, the role and importance of the UN in today's world, but also the contribution that we, as member countries, can make in resolving the current global challenges,” said Vucic.

The Serbian President said they agreed that the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly was an excellent opportunity for world leaders to meet and openly discuss the real problems the world is facing.

“I once again invited Chancellor Scholz to visit Serbia so we could discuss in detail all issues of importance for advancing cooperation between our two countries,” said Vucic.

The Serbian President is attending the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and will address the participants on September 21.
