Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic invited N1 journalists to attend the next polygraph interrogation of police inspectors investigating the Jovanjica marijuana farm case.

An N1 reporter asked the president if the first two polygraph sessions for the police inspectors were staged and whether the chief polygraph operator is brother to his cabinet chief. “I would ask you to be there, you from N1 so we can repeat it and find whichever polygraph expert you want. I will answer every question about (organized crime group boss) Belivuk and Jovanjica. Every one. You should be there to say which questions should be asked and I will answer every question without asking you anything, especially not whose political support you enjoy and who you are promoting,” he said replying to reporter Nenad Nesic.

President Vucic said that Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic is very good at his job and added that problems between members of his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will be resolved within the party. Our internal party issues are resolved as they should be and questions of state will be resolved by state bodies, he said.

The Serbian police Internal Affairs Sector questioned Director of Police Vladimir Rebic, the head of the Belgrade Police Narcotics Department Slobodan Milenovic and operations chief Dusan Mitic over the Jovanjica case. Milenkovic and Mitic were interrogated three times even though both passed polygraph tests the first two times.

Vucic said they had been questioned a third time because someone in the police suspected that the first two polygraph tests were staged. Journalist Ivan Milicevic said that the head of the Internal Affairs Ministry polygraph teams is the brother of Vucic’s cabinet chief Ivica Kojic.

The Jovanjica case got a political dimension following revelations of visits by state officials to the legal section of the farm and claims that the main suspect had ties to Vucic’s brother Andrej and other officials.
