President Aleksandar Vucic had a meeting behind closed doors with ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) members of the government on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and her cabinet ministers made no statement to the media after the meeting but a press release said that Vucic would address the nation via the pro-regime TV Pink later in the day. The meeting was also attended by Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic and senior SNS official Darko Glisic.

The 2-hour meeting comes just a day after Vucic convened a meeting of the SNS leadership to discuss the recent session of parliament devoted to Kosovo. SNS leader Vucic and senior party official Glisic later blasted ruling coalition partner the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) for “flirting with the opposition” and not taking a clear stand to back up Vucic.
