Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met Tuesday with UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Sir Stuart Peach and informed him of Serbia’s positions regarding the current situation in the region.

“I informed Sir Peach on Serbia’s positions regarding the current situation in the region, especially in Kosovo and Metohija. I pointed to the increasing number of incidents and Pristina’s unilateral moves that essentially threaten the safety and survival of Serbs and non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija. I stressed that Serbia, as so far, remains truly committed to preserving peace in the region, and the numerous regional integration initiatives launched precisely by our country testify to this,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

However, he said, “the issue of the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) for us remains key, as an obligation undertaken and accepted by Pristina in line with international agreements, as well as the safety of the Serb people living in Kosovo and Metohija, for which we are expecting the United Kingdom’s full support.”
