Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the December 17 parliamentary elections will not be held in Serb communities in Kosovo because Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti “does not want to” enable the Serbs to exercise their fundamental and natural rights.

“There will be no elections in Serb communities, because Kurti does not want to allow the Serbs the natural right that they should have. The West will say they are unable to pressure Kurti and they will issue a statement. There has already been a statement by (EU spokesperson) Peter Stano and that’s it,“ said Vucic in Dubai, where he is attending the world leaders’ summit on climate change.

He said Kurti insists on the recognition of Kosovo’s independence as a condition for the holding of the elections.

“We have to recognize Kosovo so Serbs could take part in the election. Full stop. Nothing more and nothing less. And everyone in Serbia and in Europe knows this. It’s good that they will react to this, but we get noting out of it,” said Vucic.
