Vucic: No immediate threat of power shortages in Serbia

“At the moment, there is no threat of power outages in Serbia. However, given how incredibly difficult the situation is, it’s impossible to say for certain what things will look like in ten days’ time,” Vucic told the Serbian state TV (RTS).

He noted that developments in the regional energy market directly impact Serbia’s supply, and added that securing oil and diesel supplies presents further challenges.

“We turned down the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) when they asked to export diesel to the region to boost cash flow. We didn’t permit any of it. We are keeping everything for our own needs and for our citizens,” Vucic said.

He said he believes that, despite the numerous challenges, Serbia will manage to maintain a stable energy supply and weather the impact of global market disruptions.
