Vucic opens National AI platform data base

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that the national data center in Kragujevac will allow access to all information from medical centers across the country later this week.
“Every scan will be received here and we can process a million of them a day,” he said at the opening of the National Artificial Intelligence Platform.
An agreement allowing access to the platform’s data base was signed by university deans and institute chiefs as well as the head of the government IT Office and the CEOs of science and technology parks from across Serbia. The signing ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and US Ambassador Anthony Godfrey. The construction of the 30 million Euro data center on an area of 14,000 square meters was financed by the government.
Vucic said that the government plans to build a molecular genetics institute. “We will need 10 or 15 years to do all this but I can say that this changes everything,” he said and added that the authorities paid 2 million Euros for Nvidia supercomputers for the AI platform.
