Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told the opening of the 2nd Open Balkan Wine Vision fair that a prosperous and stable region has 20 million consumers.

He said that the fair is a peace project as part of the Open Balkan Initiative. The opening of the fair was attended by Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic and the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dmitar Kovacevski while Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama sent a video message to the opening.

Vucic said that Serbia’s free trade agreement with China will lead to lower customs tariffs on wine and spirits for Serbian producers and added that Serbia will help exporters from partner countries.

Kovacevski said that the results of the Open Balkan Initiative are evident with trade between the participating countries rising by 25 percent. Milatovic told the opening that cooperation is good because of the image it sends of the Western Balkans. Rama said in his message that the future of the region has to be significantly different from its past and that the neighbors in the Western Balkans should be transformed for new generations.
