Vucic promises higher salaries, pensions

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic promised higher salaries for military special forces and the Gendarmerie.

He told the pro-regime TV Pink that “those people will live incomparably better” following the “huge raises”. Vucic said that staff at the Military-Technical Institute will also get higher salaries.

Vucic said the Serbian authorities asked the US to provide information about what BIA chief Aleksandar Vulin is being accused of, adding that “this will amount to nothing, because the real reason for the sanctions is his relationship with Moscow”.


The president also promised higher salaries by 5.5 percent for teachers, nurses and pensioners as of September this year. “Those will be the highest pensions and salaries in history,” he said.

Vucic said that he expects at least 4.5 billion in foreign investments by the end of the year and added that the country’s gold reserves have never been higher.
