Vucic’s supporters from Kosovo assault man for calling them “caci”

Jolovic was attacked after he called the marchers “caci.”

“Caci” is a derogatory term used for alleged students who support the Vucic regime and camp outside the Serbian Presidency building in Belgrade. The term originated from graffiti reading “Caci to School,” where the word “djaci” (students) was misspelled as “caci,” and has since been used as a term of ridicule.

Jolovic sustained a broken nose and injuries to his body, and explained to Nova.rs that he didn’t want to run, even though a large number of attackers came at him.

“It all happened so quickly. I went to the store and was on my way back. They were walking on the pavement, and I was on the elevated part of the road. They were chanting ‘Vucic, Vucic!’ I shouted at them, ‘Caci, caci!’ and ‘You sold your souls!’ Then they started insulting me and cursing my mother. I responded, and then they said, ‘We’re coming for you!’ One of them approached me, as if to talk, but in less than half a minute they attacked me,” Jolovic explained.

Due to the force of the blows, he said he almost lost consciousness. “I was taken into the store. When I came to, I saw my father and police officers. There were no ‘cacis,’ only my family and the police standing there,” Jolovic recounted.

The police immediately drove him to a doctor, who confirmed the broken nose. “I have some bruises on my body and arms. My head is ringing and it hurts. The police said they would do their job and try their best. But the problem is that there was a bunch of people - I couldn’t see all of whose who were hitting me,” he explained.
