Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed satisfaction on Wednesday that the European Parliament did not accept a proposal to end pre-accession talks with Serbia over Belgrade’s stand on the Ukraine war.

He said that the Serbian authorities will continue acting in the interest of the state. “There were attempts by some MEPs to adopt an end to the negotiations with Serbia. We are pleased that this was not adopted because that would be wrong and thanks to the majority in the European Parliament who did not agree to that…. If they think we are going to beg for something – we won’t,” he said.

According to Vucic, the important thing is for Serbia to stay on the European path and have its own opinion and right to consider its interests.

The Serbian President denied reports that he would be meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, adding that he never turned down a meeting but that Kurti mainly ran from meetings.

Commenting the video message by Serb List official and alleged organized crime group boss Milan Radoicic, Vucic said that where Radoicic is at present is his personal business and nothing to do with the state.
