President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday that a signature, seal or verbal agreement means that something is legally binding for Serbia.
“Serbia will work on the implementation of everything it said it would do despite the fact that I don’t think that Pristina will form the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM),” he told a news conference.
US Ambassador Christopher Hill told the FoNet news agency that the agreement reached in Ohrid is legally binding even without signatures including its key elements which are both sides’ obligations in the European integration process. He said it’s important that the EU has an agreement whose implementation it has to secure.
Vucic said that there can be no mention of official Belgrade recognizing Kosovo, its membership in the UN but that everything else that leads to better relations with the Albanians can be discussed.
“Serbia never used tricks and that is my message to the people speaking at the foreign affairs forum,” he added.
