Vucic: Serbia forced to equip military because of regional alliance

Speaking live on the pro-regime TV Prva, Vucic said that Serbia does not present a threat to neighboring country and won’t be the first to fire but has to be cautious.

He said the Serbian military has never been stronger. According to him, the military is well-equipped with very few aware of what has been procured in secrecy over the past few years. Vucic said the military will show everything it has at the planned parade in September. He said the Serbian defense system has undergone changes of doctrine which were not made public and added that it hid a number of the devices it bought. “Less than 5 people know what we managed to bring in with the aim of protecting the country… We will have some of the most sophisticated weapons soon. We have excellent drones from domestic producers and some we got from abroad,” he said.

The president said he would be meeting the General Staff Collegium next Monday.
