Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia has not joined any of the 23 EU declarations against Russia.
Following the opening of the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, he said that his job as President of Serbia was to take care of Serbia and not the EU.
„When we become a member of the EU, we will take care of it as well. It is very important to have a good relationship with the EU and to be on the European path, but now our job is to take care of our country, to provide enough food and energy, to take care of the integrity and the Constitution of our country. I think we are doing it in a very, very good way,” Vucic said, speaking to media.
Asked about the harmonization of Serbia with the sanctions imposed on Belarus, Vucic said that there was nothing new there.
„There were 25 declarations, we agreed with nine and we did not agree with 16. This is nothing new, it has been going on for a year. We are looking at what is in our interest, what would not be friendly and fair,“ said the Serbian president.
