Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Serbia has progressed faster thanks to German companies, which, he said, changed the habits of the people in Serbia.

“German companies came to our country, these factories employ our workers and engineers. At present day our trade amounts to 8.3 billion euros,” Vucic said at the first gala dinner event of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK) at the Hilton hotel in Belgrade.

The President said 100,000 people in Serbia are expected to find jobs in German companies, noting it is important for  cooperation with German companies to continue, the daily Novost reported.

This business organization has over 400 members, while German companies employ more than 70,000 people in Serbia, reported Novosti.

AHK Serbia president Milan Grujic said at the gala dinner that Germany is the biggest single investor in Serbia, adding that most of the surveyed companies said they would again decide to invest in Serbia.

Grujic said trade between Germany and Serbia keeps growing.

As previously announced, the aim of this event is to continue successfully developing and boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.
